Abstract

This research presents a proposed framework for activating epistemological integration between the Arabic language and Islamic sciences through the employment of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, in light of the rapid technological advancements witnessed globally. The study begins by emphasizing the central role of the Arabic language as a fundamental tool for understanding Islamic texts and accurately deriving religious rulings. It highlights that the integration between linguistic and Sharia sciences is a scientific and methodological necessity to ensure sound comprehension and interpretation of Islamic texts.

The research explores the theoretical framework of epistemological integration, discussing its concept, underlying philosophy, and significance in developing unified educational curricula that reinforce the unity of Islamic knowledge. It also clarifies the role of such integration in shaping the learner's character intellectually, ethically, and spiritually. Furthermore, the study investigates the capabilities of AI in serving both linguistic and Sharia disciplines, including natural language processing (NLP), automatic text diacritization, Hadith chain analysis, text correction, and the development of interactive educational platforms.

Practical examples of AI tools are presented, such as the “Tarteel” app for Quranic education and the “Tashkeel” tool for Arabic text processing, illustrating their impact on improving educational outcomes and enhancing comprehension among learners. The research also addresses key challenges hindering integration, including the scarcity of Arabic digital content, the difficulty AI systems face in understanding religious contexts, and the absence of clear ethical and Sharia guidelines in some technical applications.

The study proposes practical mechanisms for implementing epistemological integration, such as restructuring educational curricula to incorporate the interplay between language and Sharia, training educators in the use of AI tools, developing specialized smart software for Islamic and linguistic sciences, and fostering partnerships between academic institutions and AI research centers.

The research concludes that enabling epistemological integration through AI represents a promising opportunity for the advancement of Islamic education and the achievement of high academic standards in line with the demands of the digital age, provided that such integration adheres to ethical and Sharia-compliant standards. It also opens up future research avenues, including the development of comprehensive knowledge databases, specialized educational applications, and experimental studies to assess the impact of AI tools on Islamic and linguistic education.
